In 2012, one of Sotramont’s achievements, the Place des Nations project at Bois-Franc was recognized as the first LEED Gold building in Quebec (category four or more-storeys) and in 2014, the same project was recognized. as having the world’s most successful building envelope in the world, by the US Green Building Council. In 2015, Sotramont continues to innovate by building two six- to eight-storey condo projects with a solid wood structure CLT (cross-laminated timber), a renewable material recognized for its solidity and environmental performance. One of them, Arbora, comprising of 434 dwellings in three eight-storey buildings, is the largest residential building in the world made of cross-laminated solid wood panels.
