Rimeh Daghrir, a chemist and accredited administrator, holds a Master’s and PhD in water sciences from the National Institute of Scientific Research – Water Earth Environment Center, as well as a Master’s in Business Administration from the School of Management at the University of Quebec in Montreal. She currently holds the position of Research Contracts and Partnerships Advisor in Applied Sciences at the Research-Development-Valorization Office at the University of Montreal.

Prior to joining the University of Montreal, Ms. Rimeh Daghrir was a researcher at the Water Technology Center and a lecturer at Cégep de Saint-Laurent. Rimeh Daghrir is a chemist and certified administrator with more than 16 years of experience in project management, research administration, and teaching. She holds a Master’s and a Ph.D. in water sciences from the Institut national de la recherche scientifique-Centre Eau Terre Environnement, as well as a Master’s in business administration from the École des sciences de la gestion at the Université du Québec à Montréal. She currently works as a research contracts and partnerships advisor in applied sciences at the Bureau Recherche-Développement-Valorisation at the University of Montreal.

Daghrir is responsible for the Water Use research axis and sits on the Scientific Committee of CentrEau, Quebec’s largest water management group. She serves as the president of the board of directors of the Caisse Desjardins de Bordeaux-Cartierville-Saint-Laurent and is a member of the board of directors of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada. She served on the board of directors of the Ordre des chimistes du Québec from 2017 to 2023 and on the board of directors of INRS from 2018 to 2023, where she was also the Chair of the Governance and Ethics Committee.

Daghrir has received several awards for academic excellence, including the Best Doctoral Thesis in Water Sciences from the Institut national de la recherche scientifique-Centre Eau Terre Environnement and the Excellence Scholarship from the Tunisian government twice. She has also served as a member of various technical committees and university award selection committees and participates actively in several outreach and awareness-raising activities, such as the ADICQ Day, the ADRIQ Innovation Awards Gala, and the networking days of the Eau Pour Tous association. She is also involved in activities to promote science education, such as the Hydro-Québec Expo-Sciences days and the Club des femmes universitaires de Montréal.
